The journey toward inclusive growth at Austin-Bergstrom International Airport (AUS) has taken flight—earning recognition from the WTS Heart of Texas Chapter with the prestigious Rosa Parks Diversity Leadership Award at their 2024 Scholarship Gala. The award honors individuals and organizations that have made significant contributions to promoting diversity, inclusion, and opportunity in the transportation industry.
Team Adisa is proud to have played a leading role in this milestone achievement through our partnership on the AUS Supplier Diversity Outreach Program—a program that is reshaping how local and small businesses access aviation and infrastructure opportunities across Central Texas.
Building Access, Expanding Opportunity
Under the direction of the City of Austin’s Department of Aviation and its program partners, Adisa Communications helped design and execute a comprehensive supplier diversity strategy that connected emerging businesses—especially minority- and women-owned firms—to upcoming contract opportunities within the Airport Expansion and Development Program (AEDP).
Our work included:
- Planning and facilitating three major Industry Day events, each designed to connect contractors, subcontractors, and suppliers with procurement staff and project teams.
- Leading networking activities that fostered meaningful relationships between local businesses and major firms engaged in the AEDP.
- Developing targeted marketing materials that translated complex procurement information into clear, accessible messages for diverse audiences.
- Providing ongoing communications support, ensuring transparency, trust, and inclusion across all outreach efforts.
The Adisa Way: Clarity, Connection, and Community
For nearly three decades, Adisa Communications has partnered with agencies and organizations to make public engagement more inclusive, equitable, and effective. Our team specializes in small business outreach, public involvement, and strategic communications—bringing cultural fluency and community trust to high-impact projects across Texas.
At AUS, we applied those same principles to create a supplier engagement program grounded in access and equity—helping ensure that local small businesses could see themselves not only as vendors, but as valued partners in the airport’s future.
Recognizing Leadership in Diversity
The Rosa Parks Diversity Leadership Award from WTS Heart of Texas celebrates programs and professionals that break barriers and build pathways for participation in the transportation sector. For Adisa, this recognition reflects more than a project milestone—it’s a reaffirmation of our mission to make things clear and to create systems where everyone has a seat at the table.
As AUS continues its ambitious airport expansion, Adisa remains committed to advancing supplier diversity and community inclusion across every stage of development.
Together, we’re proving that clarity and collaboration can change not only how we build—but who gets to build.
