Dougherty Arts Center Replacement Project
Studio 8 Architects/Overland Partners sought input from the community to design a new space in the Dougherty Arts Center that was adaptable and flexible to address evolving future community needs. Adisa Communications needed to find creative, innovative and effective ways to engage the community on the project, despite the pandemic.
The Adisa Team Solution
The Adisa team invited the community to attend virtual meetings and introduced a new online engagement tool, MentiMeter, to the Dougherty project team that provided strong visual information and collected real-time data from participants during the meetings and community focus groups. The Adisa team members also hosted and provided audio/visual technical planning, executed a hybrid-public meeting, and created collateral material and social media communications.
The community-informed design plan was reviewed by the Design Commission and the Austin City Council for final approval.
